Feb-16-2023: Today Bonthu Ram Mohan along with his wife Sridevi joined Congress Party.
19-Nov-2020: Today TRS has released third list of candidates for upcoming GHMC elections and Bonthu Ram Mohan wife Sridevi will be contesting as TRS Candidate from Cherlapally division. As the Mayor is reserved for Women this time, Sridevi will be one of the top picks for Mayor Post if TRS wins the election.
Feb-11-2016 : Ram Mohan got Unanimously elected as GHMC Mayor by the corporators and co option members.

Ram Mohan has actively participated in the Telangana agitations and he spent 4 months in Jail during the agitations and 142 cases are registered on him during telangana agitation.
