11-May-2015: Sunkara Padmasri appointed as Andhra Pradesh women Congress president.
She has joined in politics in 2008 and contested as MLA from gannavaram in 2014 and lost. She has joined in congress as a normal party worker and got very good exposure to congress leader ship and which gave her a chance to contest in 2014 assembly elections.Even though she just got around 1.5% of polled votes which are around 2500 in that elections she is fighting hard at TDP government and the issues of people which gave her a chance to lead Women Congress.
Prior to joining politics she was a social worker who used to serve the people with the name of "Bakta Trust".She has got a very good name in AP congress as a sincere party worker which gave her a chance to lead Andhra Pradesh women congress.
